Beggary

Begging is a crime that has been steadily growing unnoticed and only being made more severe by our misdirected attempts at seemingly helping them through alms. Beggars’ House is a project run by DGVS which aimed at the complete rehabilitation and self-employment of all of the city’s beggars. Besides ridding them of their sick thinking processes, our courses will be designed to give them an identity. DGVS is working towards the beggary aggressively and focuses on children who are involved in begging or are forced for the same. For these children, DGVS runs a program called “Dreams on Streets” which aims to give freedom to the children from begging at street lights. DGVS also runs community and open classes called “Bachpan Ki Paathshala” at many places in Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Kangra, Patna, etc, districts where more than 250 children from beggar families are studying. We provide them with books and study material so that these children can involve them in studies. DGVS is also now focusing on adults involved in begging and trying to counsel them to the mainstream of human life by proving them vocational trainings.
