Transparency and accountability are core values deeply embedded in an DGVS. Since DGVS exist for carrying out voluntary work, it is expected that our actions demonstrate honesty, responsibility and answerability. Transparency and accountability not only help us in bringing efficiency in our work, but it also improves fundraising prospects. Donor agencies love to fund DGVS because of our clear set of rules, express openness and responsibility for the results shown. Maintaining credibility and integrity and having effective decision structures is key for DGVS to
achieve its mission. DGVS is expected to demonstrate a high degree of accountability to their community and the public. In order to grow as an effective and successful non-profit organization, we need to define our decision making rules and have an internal system of checks and balances in place that ensures the public interest is served. Those rules need to be defined in good times to prevent bad times.
